What is the deal-io, yo?

Oh man.
The deal-io (concerning my lack of comic-ing) is this:

1. I'm still blocked, writing wise. Plus, now I haven't really drawn much in several months, so my drawing has suffered a bit :(

2. Very, very, very annotated version of this story:
I have a rather large ovarian cyst, which I am probably going to be dealing with for a few months in the hopes that it will go away (they don't seem inclined to take it out just yet, which doesn't mean it doesn't hurt like a bitch sometimes and still cause a whole mess of other problems).

3. San Francisco is a very, very distracting city, in both good ways and bad (I get to hang out with my friends and go to cool places, but we got held up at gunpoint last night...albeit we were in a really bad area kind of by accident - don't EVER go to Bayview).

4. I have a boyfriend :3
He is my favorite distraction, for sure.

The point:
I have maybe one academic class this semester. All ensembles and lessons, and I'm cutting my hours back at work to deal with my stress and health related issues. I will have time for comic-ing. I just have to get the story and the art back on track. It will still be at least a month, though.

Gotta figure out the cyst, and classes (Schwarzeneger's fault), and be more productive, then I'm good to go. :)

Hello! I just finished reading through Emma (found it through Drunk Duck), and I'm so impressed with how far you've come artistically and storytelling-wise. Since you haven't updated in a while, I'm guessing your life as a grad student has been very busy, which is understandable and by no means a bad thing. I greatly look forward to the days when you find more time to continue on with Emma because you've hit on something really interesting here, and I'm very excited to see how it all turns out.

It was really interesting to go through the whole comic again tonight and see your progression. You've gotten so much better with practice. You're w very hard worker and I admire that, being a layabout, myself. ^^

Aw, thanks! I've been pretty bad about keeping up with it for the last year, though. I don't know how much credit I deserve for that.

hehe, I was a little concerned when you were saying Theo and Carrie were related...what with the stuff she said about him the last couple of pages ;)

Well, I mean your skill has improved a ton so you must be practicing and working hard and totally not being lazy. ^^ Us getting to see it is incidental. The improvement is still there.

lol. It's okay, I need to make character pages anyway, and I'm now realizing just how useful it would be for me to actually work on the prequel and start getting it up- it has all the background on both Will's family and Theo's family, and would certainly minimize confusion as to a lot of stuff that's coming up in Emma.

Hmmm, yes...not being lazy...no...not at all :)

Character pages would be fun especially now that you've finally settled into a style. I keep calling it "new" but I guess you've had it for over a year or so now. But, still. ^^ I love the colors and everything. When I was going back, by the way, I noticed the ridiculous detail you put in the backgrounds. Like this page here: [link] with all the books in the background. I was like, "Holy damn. I'd have just made that a wall... o_o; " So, you're not so lazy. ^^
